Organizational Structure
Executive Committee - board of directors
Advisory Council - advisors with lived experiences who provide guidance
Volunteer Experts - individuals with specific skill sets who help the agency function
welcomed here was created to help organizations create an inclusive customer experience (ICX). When an organization receives negative feedback about their customer's experience, there’s little to no guidance provided to help them make improvements. That’s where welcomed here comes in. ICX is not just about accessibility. It’s about the social, physical, and emotional safety individuals experience while visiting an establishment.
Based on the backgrounds and experiences of the Executive Director (ED) and the Executive Committee (EC), welcomed here is positioned to provide one-on-one organization consultations and professional development training to individuals and organizations centered around ICX.
The overall goal is to create a world filled with designated welcomed here communities -- spaces and places where ALL people are safe and welcomed.
location icon: welcomed here is about helping people feel more safe in physical spaces and places
colors: welcomed here is considerate of intersectionality. Our efforts are to help ALL people so the Progress Flag colors are represented. In addition, the use of the United Nations blue for the figures represents our belief that inclusion is a human right.
figures: welcomed here is inclusive of all types of people. The gender-neutral figure represents more than the gender identities- but extends to religious tolerance, non-apparent disabilities, and more.
typeface: welcomed here uses a dyslexie font for better read-ability. The font was developed by Christian Boer, dyslexiefont.com. Further, studies have shown the use of lowercase letters indicates warmth, approachability, comfort. All of which are characteristics we seek to help people feel when exploring their communities (physical and digital) and beyond.
